He's The Man Greeting made with StampinUp! Designer Series Paper

Hello Stampers and Crafters!

Thanks to the StampinUp... He's The Man 12"x12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, I was able to make a cute card for my SIL.  And the good news?  All I needed was the DSP and basic black cardstock.  This pack has some glorious punch outs that assist in making the process so very easy.

Items needed for this card are:

He's The Man DSP
Basic Black Cardstock
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Paper Trimmer

Instructions:

Cut a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card base in Basic Black.

Cut the black DSP(designer series paper) from the pack (the one with the pig on it) to the same size as the base.

Then, cut this same piece on the diagonal. Adhere this to the left side of the black base.

The rest is easy.  Punch out the grill, the arrow, and the You're Flippin Awesome pieces from the DSP pack.  Adhere them as shown.  I did add a circle of the flipside of the black DSP under the grill.  You can trace a circle, use a square, or adhere the grill directly to the DSP.  I had a few gold stars in my stash that I added for interest.  Adorable right? And a Flippin Awesome way to let your man know he is Flippin Awesome.

Isn't it just the coolest?

Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Autumn Greetings

Hello All!  I do hope you all are having a most wonderful Fall Season.

I wanted to share this card I made using the Stampinup Autumn Greetings bundle.

Isn't it stunning? And, it was so easy because Stampinup makes it easy.  I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  Ink up the largest stamp in the bundle, the one you see above, with Memento Black ink.  When it is completely dry, color with Alcohol markers.  I used Copics on this as I do not have Stampin Blends.  However, Stampin Blends work best because they coordinate with all colors of Stampinup cardstock perfectly.  Place the largest die over the image, lining up the edges.  Cut with die cut machine and pop it out of the die.

On another piece of white cardstock, Stamp the Autumn greetings sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.  There is no die to fit this sentiment so I fussy cut around the edges.  Then dry emboss a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut to 5 1/4 x 4 1/8 with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder. Note: be sure to cut the cardstock to size before embossing as the folder is 3d so once it is embossed, it is very difficult to cut to size.

Glue the embossed piece to a folded piece of Whisper White Cardstock base measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Glue the colored piece to the embossed Blackberry Bliss cardstock and then glue the Autumn Greeting sentiment below it.  Add a couple of champagne colored sequins an Voila!

Autumn greetings to you all, and as always, Happy Stamping!

Good Morning Magnolia Step by Step Tutorial For The Beginner

Hello All!  I hope all of you are doing well during this pandemic period.  I'm certainly praying for us all.  I also pray that those who have the virus recover. I personally don't know anyone who has had it, but it is my understanding that it is rough.

Because of the lock down in our state of North Carolina, I find I have more time for crafting in which case, crafting is a blessing.  It's something I've enjoyed for about 19 years now.

A dear friend of mine is just getting into the card making craft and has asked me to post a step by step tutorial on how to make a card.  I'm currently signed as a
Stampinup demonstrator but not to sell.  However, if you have any questions or would like to purchase product, I'd be happy to help. (AHHHH, Michael Buble singing Georgia as I post this. Georgia is where I'm from originally.)

For the featured card, I used the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set from Stampinup.  It is a beautiful set and so very versatile.

For this card, you will need white, black, and green 8.5 x 11 cardstock. You'll
need to cut the white cardstock into two equal pieces by placing the full sheet in your paper trimmer turned landscape style.  Pull the left side under the blade and out to the 5.5 mark.  Run the blade through the cardstock to create two equal pieces of cardstock measuring 5.5 x 8.5 each.  Put one of these aside for later use in this project.  You will need to fold the piece remaining to create the card base.  Position the cardstock landscape style on your work surface and fold the right side to the left till the corners meet.

Set this folded card base aside.  Now we're going to work on the green background of the card.  Cut the green cardstock the same way the white was cut, but, instead of
folding one of the halves, we're going to cut it.  place your green cardstock measuring 5.5 x 8.5 into the paper trimmer and pull it under the black to the 4.25
mark.  Run the blade through the cardstock to create two equal pieces measuring 5.5 x 4.25 each. Take one of these green pieces of cardstock and cut it to measure
4.0 x 5.25.  Set aside one of these as scrap for use on another project.

Next, we're going to ink up the magnolia flower with Memento tuxedo black ink.

Now, randomly stamp the image around the edge of the green background cardstock re inking as needed.

Now, we're going to cut two more pieces of cardstock, the black, and the white.
Cut the cardstock the same size as before resulting in 5.5 x 4.25 pieces. Now you're going to cut one of the pieces of the black cardstock to measure 3.25 x 4.5 and set aside. If you need to, just lightly mark the correct measurement with a ruler and pencil and cut accordingly.  Next, you will cut the white piece of cardstock to a measurement of 3.0 x 4.25.  At the top of this piece, you can stamp any sentiment you wish as long as there is room for the Magnolia flower below it.  I selected Hello.

At this point, we're going to ink up our Magnolia flower again and make a nice crisp stamp of the image onto white cardstock.  You can stamp it directly onto the piece where your sentiment is stamped if you like.  I stamped mine on a separate piece of cardstock and cut around the image. I also used a thin sponge under it to make sure the image was as crisp as can be.

I have not invested in the Stampin blends ink markers that Stampinup has available yet.  I have a pretty sizable set of copic markers so that is what I used to color the image.  I actually got the ideas for this card from Stesha Bloodhart at Stampinhoot.com, https://stampinhoot.com/2019/10/gdp211-happily-ever-after-with-good-morning-magnolia/?ct=t(RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN)  She did use the Stampin Blends Markers in case you need more information on how to color the image.

After your Magnolia is colored, you can fussy cut around the edges of the flower
unless it was stamped directly onto the sentiment cardstock. In that case, no fussy cutting.

Now, it's just a matter of assembly.  Glue your green background piece to your white card base.  Glue your flower to your sentiment piece of cardstock unless stamped directly.  Glue your black cardstock to your green background then glue your sentiment piece with flower to the black cardstock. And...

Viola!  You have a beautiful card. You can also embellish the card with rhinestones or pearls!

Happy Crafting and God Bless!

For this project, I used

Cardstock
Whisper White
Basic Black
Pear Pizzaz

Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black

Markers
Copic colors
Grayish Olive
Cherry White
Prawn

Paris In The Spring

Well, I've never actually been to Paris in the Spring.  Or any other time for that matter.  It's on my bucket list though.  In the meantime, I can dream, right?  I dream through crafting, do you?

So, today I decided to get some creative Tim Holtz vibes going. I grabbed a piece of alcohol ink paper (shiny surface) and cut it to 5.5 and 4.25.  Then, I grabbed my green, purple and blue Tim alcohol inks. I squirted a little tiny drop of each color onto felt attached to my blending tool. I then added a little blending solution.  I then began to pounce the color onto the paper.  I loved the way it looked.  I then folder embossed with the Cricut D'vine swirl embossing folder.  I loved that too, but the color looked a little light so I added a little more blending solution to my felt and pounced more color onto the paper and low and behold, I got a surprise,  The color darkened on the raised portion while the recessed areas stayed lighter.  That was very cool!

Then, I got the Tim Holtz French Flight stamp set with framelet dies and cut The Eiffel tower in
black cardstock with the Big Shot.  I covered the entire surface with VersaMark ink and then in Copper detail embossing powder and wet embossed with my heat tool.  At that point, I decided to make a tag from this project, so I got a manila tag and once again added alcohol blending solution to my felt on the blending tool. I went all over just the entire edge of the tag to blend color and Matchy Match the folder embossed cardstock base of the project.  I then cut the project cardstock to match the size of the tag.

Okay, here comes the fun part, and I had never done this before, but I've always wanted to...I got a sheet of Embossable Window Plastic.  I then stamped three of the butterflies from the stamp set onto the Window plastic with Memento Ink.  Then, I framelet die cut the butterflies with my Big Shot.
Okay, here's the weird part (I've seen Tim do this in a video).  Get a pair of needle nose pliers and hold the cut butterfly with the pliers.  I position my pliers to hold the body of the butterfly.  Fire up that heat gun and direct the heat toward the top of the butterfly wings until they begin to curl.  Once that happens, you can shape the butterfly anyway you like.  If it needs more heat, blast it again until you get the shape you like.  You can also use your fingernails to kind of curl the wings while the plastic is still hot.  But, be careful not to burn your fingers.  There, beautiful!

I stamped PARIS from the stamp set in Memento ink, cut it with the framelet through the Big Shot and once again, added a little blending solution to my felt to go over the PARIS for a little color.  I just didn't want it to be stark white.

I grabbed one of the brass flowers from my Tim Holtz hardware stash and painted it with Pickled Raspberry Distress paint. Lastly, I got a little crinkle ribbon, added a little water to the paint on my craft mat and pulled my crinkle ribbon through to give it color.

Now, for assembly, I used Crystal Effects, but you can use any glue with good adherence and glued the Eiffel tower into the middle.  Then, I placed the butterflies where I thought they may look good and glued them in place.  So cool how the color from the background comes through the plastic!
I poked a hole at the base of the tower to affix the painted flower.  Then I glued the PARIS cut on and tied on the dried crinkle ribbon. Voila!

That was the most fun I've had since I don't know when.  It's been great to get back to crafting, starting the blog again, etc.   Please feel free to comment or ask questions.  And, have fun crafting.
